Turkey Ride

About this event

Description: If you are feeling charitable this Thanksgiving season, we invite you to join us as we cycle to purchase Turkeys and deliver to Franciscan Charities and Shani Baraka Women's Resource Center.

Last year the club received a huge donation of Turkeys from the Missions Program at Southside Baptist Church where Stanley Williams (club member) is Associate and Youth Pastor. This year his church has offered to make another donation of Turkeys and Turkey dinners to the above organizations on behalf of the club.

Not able to join the Turkey Ride? We invite you to make a donation to help those families that are less fortunate this holiday season. Each donation can be as little as $5. You don't have money to contribute? You can donate your time by volunteering to drive the vehicle to transport the Turkeys for those that are unable to carry while cycling. Please reach out to Johnny Swanson for additional details on how you can contribute.

The Turkey Ride will start and end in Millburn. We will cycle to ShopRite on Springfield Avenue in Newark to purchase the Turkeys. The 1st delivery will be Franciscan Charities and then we head over to Shani Baraka Women's Resource Center. After all deliveries are completed, we hope you will join us for hot beverages at Rock 'N' Joe of Millburn.

Please be sure to wear your club kit, bring your helmet, a spare inner tube, CO2 cartridge, bike pump, cell phone and a pleasant attitude. Face covering is required. We will practice social distancing at all times.
