Ride Description
Distance: 101 miles Pace: Fast B+ (18-21 mph avg) Terrain: Mostly flat with some rolling sections Format: Paceline Ride Overview: Starting from Hartshorn State Park, we’ll roll out at a steady but strong pace, settling into an efficient paceline as we head south along the scenic Jersey Shore. Expect smooth roads, ocean views, and some sections with wind exposure. Key Stops: Mile 20 – Belmar: Quick bathroom break. Mile 30 – Allenwood General Store: A short stop to refuel with snacks, water, and a quick stretch. Mile 60 – Jerry’s Deli: Lunch break to recharge before the final push back. After refueling at Jerry’s Deli, we’ll pick up the pace for the return leg, maintaining a strong and steady paceline as we make our way back to Hartshorn State Park. Expect a fast finish! Notes: Bring plenty of water, fuel, and cash/card for food stops. Paceline etiquette is key – smooth pulls, no surging, and clear communication. Be prepared for changing coastal winds.
