Description: It is that season again to enjoy the beautiful Fall Foliage in New Jersey the Garden State.Pleasant weather and positive people are in the forecast. Our goal is to be on the trail by 9:30 AM and be finished between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, depending on the pace of the group and the regroupings.
The hike is about 5 to 7 miles at an easy pace to stay together over the terrain, which is mostly flat. The trails are well worn and marked. We will take breaks to re-group as necessary.
Please feel free to invite family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc., bring water and food.
What to bring:
Based on our experiences with group hikes, the following items are nice to have however they are not necessary:
1 - Baseball Cap: Great for keeping the sun out of your eyes
2 - Sun Glasses: protects your eyes from the sun
3 - Thin Gloves: to keep your hands warm and free from being in your pockets
4 - Hiking Boots or Sneakers: Do not wear construction type boots (unless you are accustomed to wearing them for long periods) they are heavy and will wear you down over time during the hike. Please do not wear any new footwear on the day of the hike, whatever you wear on your feet should be worn and comfortable.
5 - Second pair of Sneakers/Footwear: There may be water/mud on the trails that you may not want to track into your car/home it is best to change them and put the soiled ones in a plastic bag to clean when you get home.
6 - Multiple layers of thin jackets so that you can unzip the various layers as you warm up throughout the hike.
7 - Wearing Cargo Pants are great to carry your food and beverages in the side pockets so that you will not need a back pack or carrying bag. Bags can become heavy and cumbersome, traveling light is always best.
