North Meets South - New Hope: Option 4 (C group)



Description: Our 4th year -  We head to New Hope to meet up with PhillyMTCC at the New Hope Train Station. The 3 clubs will then ride together along route 29 to the Lumberville General Store for lunch.

Wear Ocean Blue Club Kit or a Major Taylor Kit.

There are 4 options...you pick your poison! Options 2, 3 & 4 head to New Hope.

Option 4 (lunch with PhillyMTCC) 9:15AM meet up time

This option will start at the South Branch River Trail, Branchburg, NJ 08853 (crossing the Neshanic Station Bridge at Elm and River Road).

You will travel along Amwell Rd, Wertsville Road and Old York Road heading to the New Hope Train Station to meet up with PhillyMT. After this short rest period all clubs (MTCCNJ, MTCJ & PhillyMT) will head to the Lumberville Cafe for a bite to eat before you head back to the South Branch River Trail parking lot. This option will give you 46 miles and 2000' feet of elevation.

We roll at 9:30 AM PROMPT! If you arrive at 9:31 AM meet us along the route.  

NOTE: Starting here you will miss the meetup and photo shoot at the Conoco Gas Station with the MTCCNJ group leaving Millburn and members of Major Taylor Central Jersey. You will see these groups at your first stop, The New Hope Train Station. 

LAST MINUTE NOTE - RIVER ROAD DETOUR (as of May 22nd)!

When making a right turn onto River Road (as you travel northwest on Amwell Rd) you will see a "Road Closed" sign.

Note - You can still make this right turn onto River Road and travel on River Road to the Elm Street Bridge.  The Elm Street Bridge is about 1 mile down this road.  Make a Left onto the Elm Street bridge. Once you cross over the bridge you will see the gravel parking lot on your left. Park your car in this gravel lot.

The cycling route will make a right turn out of this parking lot back across the Elm Street bridge, right turn on River Rd, right turn on Amwell Road. The New Hope Train Station is about 17/18 miles from this point.

PARKING Instructions for Option 4
Park your car in the El Street gravel lot. If you need to use a rest room before the roll out try the Neshanic Station on Main Street.

Cancellations: Check the MTCCNJ Rides & Activities WhatsApp chat group (members only) for last minute updates or the Major Taylor Cycling Club of New Jersey private Facebook Group, for everyone else.

COVID-19: To minimize the spread of the virus we ask that all register from the website to avoid a paper sign in sheet at the start of the ride.  

REQUIREMENTS:
All riders must register for the ride. Let's roll out on time by registering before you arrive. This helps to quicken the check in process.

Please be sure to wear your club kit, bring your helmet, a spare inner tube, CO2 cartridge, bike pump, cell phone and a pleasant attitude.

Front and rear lights are recommended for this ride. The ride will NOT take place in rain or wet roads
